It been seven months since my last blog post – eeeeek – that has flown!! I had intended to send out a monthly email, however that (obviously) hasn’t happened. My intention will now be for a bi-monthly email….im committed!!!
So yes, I’m still here quietly working away as a Naturopath, Bowen Therapist and Yoga Teacher. I thought I’d give you a little update on what’s been happening in the ‘Happy and Healthy with Hayley’ world over the last six months – it been busy – in a fabulous way!
I have started consulting every second Saturday morning in Millicent – so if week days are difficult for you, this is now an option (get in quick though, as these appointments do tend to fill quickly!). I’m also still teaching yoga in Millicent and Mt Gambier, and love that this practice is being embraced by more and more people. I feel very blessed it’s something I get to share.
I’ve also had numerous opportunities this year to work at some local high schools with young people – either as a yoga teacher, talking food choice and wellness, or working on mindset, intention setting and affirmations. I LOVE this work – and I LOVE working with teenagers – I hope to do more of this in the future.
This year also seems to have been the year of facing up to my fear and resistance to public speaking – I’ve been ‘blessed’ with many opportunities to connect with different groups, and have had to step up and just do it…..while I can’t say it’s been comfortable, it has been good for me to step outside my comfort zone. Thanks to the many of you who have come along and listened, and therefore helped me to grow.
Naturopathic wise I’ve had a year of very intense professional development. Mid last year I had the pleasure of hearing one of Australia’s most highly regarded Naturopath’s ‘Rachel Arthur’, speak at a seminar – she was absolutely engaging, and very obviously knew her stuff. I decided then and there that I wanted to be mentored by her – however I then had to wait six months for the next program to begin.
This commitment has been wonderful for me as a practitioner (& totally worth the wait) – & has really increased my knowledge and understanding of pathology – particularly my ability to look in depth at individual cases, think critically, and work to uncover what is really going on! Rachel has been an epic resource of information – if only I could plug in to her brain and download the knowledge there!! If you have a ‘complex case’ this could also be an additional option if you want me to take it to Rachel – I can book a one on one session with her – all you need do is ask.
Most recently I have had a couple of mentoring sessions with Alison Potts of ‘Innate Being’. I’ve known for a while that I need to show up more consistently for a meditative practice –so this is how I’ve got that happening. So far, all I can say is that it is SO joyous and is me helping to create more of that in my life. I met Alison at a Yoga teacher training a few years ago & I liked her instantly – she exudes light, freedom and empathy. Her offerings on how to meditate are simply beautiful, and flow naturally from the joyous and expansive realms of the heart. I implore you to check out her work – you can listen/follow her for free on ‘SoundCloud’, or check out her website here: www.innatebeing.com.au
doTerra Essential oils are also just ‘simmering’ away for me. I’ve found these oils to be a wonderful tool for living a low toxin life. I use them in my home on a daily basis, and their hair conditioner is GOLD if you have curly hair (who would’ve thought?!). So if you would like me to set you up with your own account, let me know – it’s very easy. I do also order monthly if you are just after a single oil/blend, I’m happy to get it for you.
That’s about it from me for today.
You’ll hear from me again in two months!!
